South India Wildlife Tour

Day 1: Arrive Chennai

Welcome on the South India Wildlife Tour with Erco Travels. The tour begins from Chennai city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Arrive at the airport in Chennai were representatives from Erco Travels will meet and assist you in your transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Chennai Mahabalipuram Kanchipuram Trichy

Begins with a nice breakfast at the hotel followed by a road-trip to Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. In the evening, you will be transferred to the railway station to board a train to Trichy. Dinner and overnight stay will be on board.

Day 3: In Trichy

Arrive in Trichy early in the morning and transferred to the hotel for refreshing and breakfast. Enjoy your free time as you please before lunch. Afterwards, take a city tour of Trichy and see Rockfort and Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam. Return to the hotel late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Trichy Madurai

Enjoy a lazy breakfast in the hotel. Then, visit the Jambukeswarar temple at Thiruvanaikaval. After lunch, you will be taken to Madurai by surface (2-hour drive). Arrive in Madurai and transfer to the hotel for dinner and spending the night.

Day 5: In Madurai

On Day 5 after the breakfast, take a city tour of Madurai to see its tourist attractions. Visit the Sri Meenakshi - Sundareswarar Temple, Thirupparankundram Temple, Gandhi Museum and Mariamman Teppakulam. Enjoy the daily sound and light show in Thirumalai Nayak Palace. Return to the hotel for the night.

Day 6: Madurai Periyar

Take a morning road-trip to Periyar National Park after the breakfast. Periyar National Park in Kerala is a wildlife rich reserve with a major population of elephants. Upon arrival, check-in at the resort and spend some time in relaxing. After lunch, take a guided nature walk inside the park.

Day 7: Periyar

The Day 7 is reserved for a full-day jungle safari and wildlife tour of Periyar National Park. Elephants and tigers are the main wildlife attraction of this park. Over 320 species of birds can be seen inside the park. In the evening, take a boat ride in Periyar Lake to see wild animals from a closer distance. Return to the resort for overnight stay.

Day 8: Periyar Cochin

If you want, you can have another early-morning safari. After the breakfast, proceed to Cochin by surface (4-hour drive). Cochin is an important city both historically and culturally. Arrive in Cochin and proceed to the hotel for lunch. In the evening, you can visit Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica and Bolgatty Palace. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9: Cochin Ooty

After an early-morning breakfast, drive to Ooty in Tamil Nadu (6-hour drive). Ooty is a famous hill station of south India. Arrive in Ooty and transfer to the hotel for lunch. Spend the rest of the evening at the hotel.

Day 10: Relax

Enjoy the full day as you please in the beautiful valleys of Ooty. Major tourist attractions of Ooty are Ooty Lake, Ooty Botanical Gardens and Ooty Mountain Railway. Get back to the hotel for the night.

Day 11: Ooty Bandipur

After having your breakfast, take a short drive to Bandipur National Park in Karnataka. It is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and is home to many endangered species of wildlife. Arrive in Bandipur and transfer to the jungle resort for check-in. In the evening, take a nature walk to explore the natural beauty of this park. Dinner will be in the resort.

Day 12: In Bandipur

The forests of Bandipur National Park are densely covered by different types of timber trees. Take an early-morning safari to see tigers and elephants. Spend the rest of the day in bird-watching as there are many different species of birds that make this park their home. Return to the resort in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 13: Bandipur Bangalore

Enjoy your breakfast on the morning of Day 13 in the resort. Afterwards, checkout from the resort and proceed to Bangalore by surface (4-hour drive). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel to unwind yourself. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka and is a culturally important city in south India. Take a half-day tour of the city to see different species of birds at Hebbal Lake.

Day 14: Bangalore Chennai

On Day 14, after enjoying the breakfast, take a road-trip back to Chennai. Arrive in Chennai and proceed straight to the hotel. Rest of the day after lunch is free for leisure activities. Enjoy shopping in the evening. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 15: Departure.

On the final day of this tour, checkout from the hotel after breakfast and transfer to the airport to board the next flight back to home country. This marks the end of your South India wildlife tour.
